From Global News.
Despite repeated efforts by the Trump administration to move beyond the Jeffrey Epstein controversy, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) says it’s seeking testimony from Epstein’s former associate, Ghislaine Maxwell.
Maxwell, the former longtime girlfriend of Epstein, is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence after being convicted of sex trafficking in 2021, two years after the disgraced Epstein died by suicide while awaiting trial on similar sex trafficking charges.
The move from the DOJ comes amid growing calls from deep inside Trump’s base to get all of the information released — an effort, that Global’s Reggie Cecchini explains is running into a congressional roadblock.
