33-year-old Victor M. Sweeney is a licensed mortician and funeral director in Warren, Minnesota. He earns around $87,000 annually and handles around 100 deaths each year.

In his spare time, he restores unmarked graves in the town’s Catholic cemetery, hand-carving headstones and inscribing their names in Latin.

“It’s a way of giving back to the people who came before us,” he says. “It’s very gratifying.”
