An 8.8 magnitude earthquake in Russia’s Far East raised tsunami alerts in Japan, Alaska, Hawaii and along the US West Coast. The tsunami warning for the state of Hawaii has been downgraded to an advisory. Authorities continue to monitor conditions and urge returning residents to remain vigilant.
