Ukraine says its behind the assassination of Russian general Igor Kirillov in Moscow | DW News

In Moscow, a senior Russian general has been killed by a bomb hidden in an electric scooter. A Ukrainian official said the country’s security service carried out the attack.

The blast on Monday morning took place outside an apartment block a few kilometers from the Kremlin. Russian authorities say Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov and an assistant were killed. Kirillov was the head of Russia’s ‘Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Protection Forces. Just yesterday, Ukraine charged Kirillov with using banned chemical weapons during Russia’s war efforts.
