Speaking to supporters on Tuesday, Canadian NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh chastised Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre for his reaction to an endorsement from U.S. business mogul and noted Trump supporter Elon Musk.

Singh said Poilievre’s response was out of sync with Musk’s recent actions, most recently the controversy generated by his hand gesture at a Donald Trump inaguration rally.

In later remarks to reporters, Singh said that in his view, Canada has the ability to impact Elon Musk’s business interests directly, by shutting off the flow of critical minerals to the U.S. which his electric car company, Tesla, is reliant upon.
