From PBS NewsHour.
President Donald Trump and Maine Gov. Janet Mills got into a heated exchange at the White House on Friday over whether the state would comply with the president’s executive order banning transgender athletes from competing in women’s sports.
“You better comply otherwise you’re not getting any federal funding,” Trump told Mills, who was attending a meeting of governors.
Mills replied that Maine would “follow the law” and later retorted “We’ll see you in court."
Trump responded with his own promise to see Mills in court and attempted to taunt her, warning Mills that she would not be re-elected.
