America’s top diplomat Marco Rubio says US president Donald Trump is determined to end the war in Ukraine ‘as soon as possible’. In a call with Ukraine’s foreign minister, he said all sides must take steps to secure a sustainable peace. Trump is ‘strongly considering’ to pose new sanctions and tariffs on Russia after its latest attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
At least 8 people were injured and dozens of buildings damaged in the latest round of Russian strikes on Kharkiv. The Ukrainian air force said that they shot down over 67 missiles and 200 drones launched by Russia during an overnight attack on several regions in Ukraine.
Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy said that communication with Washington was ongoing.
