Europe and Canada retaliate against Trump’s steel and aluminum tariffs as markets fluctuate

President Trump touted better-than-expected inflation numbers Wednesday, as the trade war is escalating. Canada and the European Union announced new tariffs on U.S. goods after Trump’s sweeping tariffs on all steel and aluminum imports went into effect. Wall Street welcomed the news of February’s inflation numbers showing prices rose 2.8% year over year. But those numbers don’t yet reflect the potential impact of President Trump’s trade war. NBC News’ Gabe Gutierrez and Christine Romans report.
