The Trump administration is freezing over $2-billion dollars in federal funding for Harvard University. It happened after the elite college rejected a list of demands from the government that were said to be designed to fight antisemitism on campus. The president of Harvard says the requests crossed red lines regarding academic freedom and interference in higher education. Wendy Schiller, Director of the Taubman Center for American Politics and Policy at Brown University joined Bloomberg Open Interest to talk about why she was so surprised by Harvard’s swift reaction to the White House and the implications for higher education.
