US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday there were "numerous definitions of Article Five", referring to mutual defence commitments specified in the NATO treaty. The comment will likely rattle his counterparts in Europe. Trump is pushing allies to pledge more defence spending.

Trump’s announced ceasefire between Israel and Iran is set to continue to dominate the summit. Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelenskyy is also seeking Trump’s attention to push for more sanctions against Russia and to discuss buying a package of weapons made up mainly of air defences.
