Johnny Noviello died in a detention centre in Florida on Monday, according to a news release from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The 49-year-old was living in the U.S. as of 1988 and became a lawful permanent resident in 1991, despite still having Canadian citizenship. The cause of death is still under investigation, according to the agency.
