Extra info 1:
The Korg M1 "Organ 2" specifically was key to this style early on, but it’s since been replicated in countless synths. So in more recent songs, the sound might not come from a Korg at all.
The Vengaboys track, for example — similar sound, with that +7 semitone thing, but snappier and grittier than the original.

Extra info 2:
I’m showing a sine wave here just to keep things simple rather than diving into filters — but if you’re actually recreating the sound, use a saw & square wave and a low-pass filter.
