From Global News.
As the death toll from flooding in Texas surpassed 50 people on Saturday, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott promised Saturday that efforts “will be relentless in going after and ensuring that we locate every single person who’s been a victim of this flooding event.”
U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem assured residents that President Trump “is absolutely committed to using all the resources of the federal government to help unify families, rescue all those that were still missing and return those who maybe we will recover back to their families as soon as possible.”
Meanwhile, Kerrville resident Scott Walden, 63, recounted the terrifying ordeal he and his wife faced when they had to evacuate their home.
“We literally jumped in the water and it swept us down to about 200 feet down. And there is a creek myrtle tree that we grabbed hold of and we waited for rescue.”
