From Global News.
Kerr County Sheriff Larry Leitha and other officials will provide an update Monday on the catastrophic flooding in Texas that has killed at least 82 people, as search and rescue efforts continue across the country.
Heavy rains fell quickly in the predawn hours Friday in the Texas Hill County, causing the Guadalupe River to rise 26 feet in just 45 minutes. Authorities say may of the dead were children.
Among the dead are 27 campers and counsellors from a Christian girls summer camp. In a statement, the camp said it was "grieving" their loss and that local and state authorities were working "tirelessly" to search for the missing girls.
Meanwhile, the risk of life-threatening flooding remains high in central Texas as more scattered showers and storms are expected throughout the day on Monday.
