Amazon’s Prime Day brings protests not deals to Montreal

On the first day of Amazon’s annual Prime Day, dozens of laid-off employees rallied in downtown Montreal, hoping to send a strong message.

Earlier this year, Amazon abruptly shut down its seven Quebec warehouses, leaving more than 4,500 workers without jobs.

Many say they are still struggling to find work.

Former employees joined the “Boycott Amazon campaign.”
