Trump’s Africa summit snafu

From Reuters.

President Trump complimented the President of Liberia’s English during an Africa summit at the White House.

"Thank you, such good English. Such beautiful. Where did you learn to speak so beautifully?"

President Joseph Nyuma Boakai responded he learned to speak in Liberia. The country’s official language is English.

Mauritania’s President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani opened the African leaders’ remarks with a warm thank you for Trump. He spoke of the country’s many resources, including iron ore and fishing.

Trump urged him to move it along, gesturing to him with his hand. "But I appreciate it very much, I appreciate it," Trump said. "Maybe we’re going to have to go a little bit quicker than this.”
