The Kremlin stated on Tuesday that U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent remarks, including a threat of sanctions on buyers of Russian exports, are serious and require careful analysis.

"The U.S. president’s statements are very serious. Some of them are addressed personally to President Putin," said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov added that Russia wants to understand what motivated U.S. President Donald Trump’s statement that Russia must agree to a peace deal in Ukraine within a 50-day deadline.

"It is clear that he is under enormous, I would say, indecent pressure from the European Union and the current leadership of NATO, who impudently support Zelenskyy’s demands to continue pumping him with modern weaponry, including offensive (weapons)," said Lavrov.
