Epstein files: Trump, Bondi dismiss “made up” documents as House Republicans block releasing them

From Global News.

A week after the Trump administration said documents allegedly containing the names of Jeffrey Epstein‘s high-profile clients did not exist, U.S. President Donald Trump has blamed his predecessors for their creation. Epstein, the disgraced financier who took his own life in prison 2019, was in prison for sex trafficking minors.

“I would say that these files were made up by [former FBI director James] Comey, they were made up by [former president Barrack] Obama, they were made up by [former president Joe] Biden,” Trump told reporters in Washington Tuesday.

Despite backtracking on the narrative on July 7, Attorney General Pam Bondi suggested in a Fox News interview earlier this year that such a document was “sitting on my desk” for review.

On Tuesday, Bondi refused to comment on the topic during a press conference – hours after Republicans on the U.S. House Rules Committee voted against a Democratic-led motion to have the alleged files released to the public.
