Trump diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, White House says

From Global News.

In a White House press briefing on Thursday, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said U.S. President Donald Trump had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a benign and common condition in individuals over the age of 70.

She said Trump underwent vascular testing to get the "mild swelling in his lower leg" checked, and all results were within normal limits.

Addressing pictures of the president with hand makeup, she said that the minor bruising on the back of his hand was because of "minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking."

She added that tests for cardiac functioning and structure were also "within normal range."
