Russia’s foreign ministry said Thursday it would “not accept threats” following an ultimatum from U.S. President Donald Trump that Moscow agree to a ceasefire in Ukraine or face sanctions.
Trump announced a tougher stance on Russia Monday over its ongoing war against Ukraine, promising a fresh wave of missiles and other weapons for Kyiv.
Maria Zakharova, a spokesperson for the foreign ministry said Trump’s decision to supply Ukraine with new missiles was a signal to “continue the slaughter” and a rejection of peace initiatives.
