A volcano in Iceland erupted on Wednesday, spewing lava at the Reykjanes Peninsula. The area has seen a surge in activity over the last decade, and the eruption forced around 100 people to evacuate from the town of Grindavik shortly after the seismic activity began. It is the volcano’s 12th eruption since 2021.
