UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz signed a treaty that includes a commitment for the two nations to assist each other in case of armed attack. The new treaty also contains measures relating to trade, transport and migration. Starmer’s office highlighted a clause in the new treaty that will enable UK citizens to use automated gates when entering Germany. Bloomberg’s Lizzy Burden reports.
