Framing an Addition | This Old House

From This Old House.

A couple of weeks ago, the old part of the Concord house was slightly tilted, and the new part is level. Today it’s time to create a transition that no one will notice. Tom and Charlie Silva take up the old subfloor and shim the old joists to ramp the old and the new transition discreetly. The large addition in the back of the house will all be level. We can’t say the same for the old part of the house. The challenge for the Silva crew is to transition from old to new and hide the evidence.
