Robots are getting weirdly affordable.
Chinese robotics firm Unitree just launched the R1, a humanoid robot that walks, obeys commands, connects to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and only costs $5,900.
It’s 4 feet tall, has 26 joints, and moves surprisingly well… but don’t expect it to carry your groceries. It doesn’t have hands. The R1 is also fully customizable, so you can tweak its features to fit your needs, or at least your vibe.
The launch comes as Unitree reportedly gears up for an IPO.
