Singer Justin Timberlake revealed on Instagram on July 31 that he has been diagnosed with Lyme disease, a condition he described as “relentlessly debilitating, both mentally and physically.”

Sharing the news after his Forget Tomorrow tour ended, Timberlake said he considered ending the tour after his diagnosis but ultimately decided to continue performing.

“The joy that performing brings me far outweighs the fleeting stress my body was feeling. I’m so glad I kept going,” Timberlake wrote.

Lyme disease is a tick-transmitted bacterial infection that can cause headaches, fever, fatigue, rashes and, if left untreated, can spread to the heart, joints and nervous system.
