U.S. President Donald Trump had promised for weeks to usher in sweeping new tariffs on Friday.

But on Thursday night when Trump signed the order imposing tariffs on 66 countries, the European Union, Taiwan and Falkland Islands, the start date was pushed back by seven days.

While the change is likely welcome news to many countries that have not yet reached a deal, it’s brought new uncertainty for consumers and businesses.
