Why are Afghan migrants and refugees being forced to flee Iran? | DW News

So far this year more than 1.5 million Afghan refugees and migrants have left Iran under duress to go home, according to the UN’s International Organization for Migration. Aid groups warn that more than a million others may be forced to return by the end of the year. Many of the returnees say an already strained atmosphere turned hostile in June after Iran and Israel fought a brief war against each other.
