Storm Floris caused major disruptions across northern UK, with severe weather warnings coming into effect in parts of Britain and Ireland on Monday.

Strong winds led to some train and flight cancellations, while signs advised against travel.

Trees were downed in Scotland by the unseasonably strong storm. Britain’s Met Office issued amber and yellow weather warnings for much of the north of the UK.

It said some coastal parts could see winds of over 128.7 km per hour.
