In the United States, the Bureau of Labor Statistics compiles and publishes data on the health of the US economy. This includes monthly reports on new hires by companies. That was exactly what happened last Friday. The new jobs report for July was published. And the numbers were not in sync with how President Trump thinks the economy is doing. How did President Trump respond? By firing the messenger. Trump was later asked why: his response was "I didn’t like the numbers."
