Prime Minister Mark Carney met with his cabinet and Canada’s premiers virtually Wednesday to discuss how they should respond to U.S. President Donald Trump’s increased tariffs.

Trump ramped up his trade war with Canada by increasing the baseline tariff from 25 to 35 per cent on goods not covered by a pre-existing free trade agreement.
