US Army identifies suspected gunmen behind shooting of 5 fellow soldiers in Georgia’s Fort Stewart

From Global News.

The U.S. Army has identified the suspected gunman behind a shooting that left five soldiers injured at Fort Stewart, Ga. On Wednesday.

Though an investigation is ongoing, military officials say 28-year-old soldier Quornelius Radford – an automated logistics sergeant – opened fire at five fellow soldiers with what they believe to be a “personal handgun.”

The five victims were rushed to a local hospital and spent the night there, before being released Thursday morning. They are expected to make a full recovery, Army Secretary Dan Driscoll said before praising the swift intervention of fellow soldiers who subdued Radford and treated the victims.

Radford is currently in pre-trial custody, awaiting a charging decision. After hearing the news, President Donald Trump vowed the “horrible” Quornelius will be “prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
