From AFP News Agency.
Wildfire sweeps through homes in Palaia Fokaia, around 50 kilometres to the southeast of the Greek capital Athens, with conditions made worse by ferocious winds. More than 200 firefighters, backed by 11 water bombers and seven helicopters, were battling a blaze in the Keratea region, just north of Fokaia, according to senior officials. Emergency services discovered the body of an elderly person inside a burnt home, with another two people — both Vietnamese tourists — dying at sea due to the windy conditions.
