The Committee to Protect Journalists is condemning the killing of five Al Jazeera journalists by target Israeli airstrikes in Gaza. CPJ called the killings retribution against those documenting the war in Gaza. Israel asserted that one of the journalists had led a Hamas cell — an allegation that Al Jazeera previously dismissed as baseless.
