How Israel’s restrictions on aid to Gaza are exacerbating starvation in the enclave | DW News

From DW News.

UN-backed health monitors have said some 100,000 Palestinian women and children are facing severe malnutrition, and a third of the population of 2.1 million hasn’t eaten in days. Israel’s plans to expand its military operations to capture and occupy Gaza City will likely worsen conditions on the ground for Palestinian aid seekers. Many international aid organizations have warned that Israel’s restrictions on deliveries of aid and health supplies to Gaza make it more difficult for malnourished people to get the nutrients they need. According to health experts, refeeding programs for starving people can have fatal complications if done without proper care.
