Trump-Putin meeting: Should Ukraine be worried? | DW News

From DW News.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is on his way to Berlin for a day of diplomacy, to prepare for Friday’s bilateral meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump. The German Chancellor Friedrich Merz is set to lead talks with various world leaders this afternoon – including the US President. While Trump has suggested a land swap could be on the agenda when he meets Putin in Alaska, the Ukrainian President says he will reject any Russian proposal to pull Ukrainian troops out of the eastern Donbas region. Zelenskyy warned that withdrawing Ukrainian forces would pave the way for Russia to conduct further offensives. He repeated his position that territorial issues should only be discussed after Moscow has agreed to a ceasefire.
