US President Donald Trump has struck an optimistic note ahead of Friday’s summit with Russia’s President Vladimir Putin, claiming that Putin is ready to make a deal on Ukraine. He says a possible future meeting with the leaders of Russia and Ukraine will be more important than the summit in Alaska. So what could be the outcome of the meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin? Trump has reportedly said that he wants to make a priority of trying to achieve a ceasefire. One suggestion that has repeatedly come up in the run-up to the summit, is the idea of a so-called "air truce" which would see both Russia and Ukraine halt their airstrikes on each other. But it is not yet clear how any such agreement could work.
