Threatened by falling demand and the loss of workers to other industries, rooftilers from the Indonesian district of Jatiwangi have turned to bodybuilding to raise awareness of their dwindling trade. Lathering themselves in oil, local workers step on stage and flex their muscles as they celebrate Indonesia’s Independence day, hoping to inspire pride in an industry which has been the region’s pride for over a century.
