WATCH: Trump says Zelenskyy and Putin both want to end Russian war in Ukraine

From PBS NewsHour.

President Donald Trump said Monday that both Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin want the war in Ukraine to end, but he also said he didn’t know when that would happen.

“The war is going to end. When it ends, I can’t tell you, but the war is going to end,” Trump said in the Oval Office, sitting next to Zelenskyy.

Trump’s comments come days after he met with Putin in Alaska. In the aftermath of that meeting, Trump pulled back his call for a ceasefire.

The Oval Office meeting with Zelenskyy precedes larger meetings with top European leaders, who are presenting a united front in support of Ukraine.
