German Chancellor Friedrich Merz speaks after European leaders met with U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskiy at the White House.

President Zelenskiy, along with the leaders of Britain, Germany, France, Italy, Finland, the European Union and NATO, traveled to Washington, D.C., to push for strong security guarantees for Ukraine in any post-war settlement.
