Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced on Tuesday that the entire U.S.-Mexico border wall will be painted black, in a move she says will discourage illegal immigration.

"When something is painted black it gets even warmer and it will make it even harder for people to climb," she said.

She touted the height of the wall as well as its depth as ways to deter people seeking to go over or under the walls.

According to Noem, this was a request from U.S. President Donald Trump.
