From DW News.
Israel’s military says its troops are already occupying the outskirts of Gaza City, as it takes the first steps in a new offensive. Israel’s defense minister Israel Katz earlier approved a plan to take over Gaza City. Israeli military spokesperson Effie Defrin said Hamas was now ‘battered and bruised’. 60,000 reservists are being called up. Human rights groups have warned that the offensive will worsen an already dire humanitarian crisis. The area is one of the most populated inside Gaza, with Palestinians there now facing the possibility of being forcibly displaced once again.
