Los Angeles under extreme heat warning as temperatures soar over 100 degrees

The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for Los Angeles, with temperatures topping 100 degrees in parts of the city.

Street vendor Michael Malone says neck fans are helping people stay comfortable on Hollywood Boulevard.

Families and tourists turned to fountains, ice, and umbrellas to escape the heat.

Officials say cooling centers and extra fire resources are in place as the warning remains in effect through Saturday.
