Fanned by high winds, the Long Lake wildfire raged out of control over the weekend, damaging several homes in Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia authorities say.

Premier Tim Houston says the province won’t release further details on how many homes were damaged until residents are notified.

The evacuation area has also been expanded as tinder dry conditions and rain make it difficult for those fighting the fire.
