Such an odd little unit. It works, but has some very odd design choices that left me a bit perplexed.
Notably the use of a real UV LED made useless by effectively shunting it with a blue LED in parallel, and then running both at very low current anyway.
This design looks like it’s a clone of another product made by someone with limited electronic knowledge.
I wonder if there’s some advantage to using an NPN transistor switching to the positive rail.
This video was made in temporary work-supplied accommodation, and the audio may sound different in the first and second parts as I was experimenting with some sound dampening to prevent harsh audio reflections.
