“Aerial humiliation”: Palestinians in Gaza “crush each other” to collect airdropped aid

From Global News.

Humanitarian aid was airdropped over Deir al-Balah in Gaza on Monday, prompting crowds to scramble for supplies.

“This is aerial humiliation, not airdrop… The package (carrying aid) is filled with about 12 boxes, more than a thousand people gather on the package. People crush eachother, and it’s not enough for a single family," said Palestinian Amin Abu Mughsib.

Another Palestinian said, "People say there is aid, so we come, but nothing reaches us, not a thing… We want it (aid) to go through institutions so it can reach our houses as we sit there safely."

More than 61,000 Palestinians have since been killed in Israel’s ensuing air and ground war in Gaza, according to local health officials, with most of the 2.2 million population internally displaced.
