Former Africville residents and their descendants are rallying behind longtime protester Eddie Carvery.

Carvery has been protesting on the site where the community used to stand since 1970.

Now, the Africville Genealogy Society says a move to evict Carvery from his trailer – parked on the land where Africville once stood – is both disrespectful and divisive.

As Ella MacDonald reports, they’re calling for a mediated resolution that honours the community’s history and respects its elders.
