Following the deadly collapse of a 12 story condominium in Surfside, FL in 2021, the state passed new rules for buildings’ structural integrity recertification. Inspections have led to multi-million dollar construction projects, the cost of which is hitting condo owners hard and in some cases, leaving them feeling trapped in units they now can’t sell. NBC News’ Marissa Parra reports.
