Air Canada flight attendants take to picket line at 4 major airports

From Global News.

Just days ahead of a possible job action, Air Canada‘s flight attendants will take to the picket line at four major Canadian airports Monday, in what the union’s calling a ‘National Day of Action’.

The move comes as labour negotiations with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) continue, and the union’s Air Canada component is in contract talks with the airline.

In past weeks, CUPE has stressed its members have lost “significant purchasing power” and that it’s negotiating for higher wages and an “end to the abuse of unpaid work.”

Global’s Meghan Cobb reports from Calgary International Airport, where one of the four one-hour demonstrations is planned.
