As hundreds of wildfires burn in Canada, expert calls for climate action

Hundreds of wildfires continue to burn across Canada amid air quality concerns in several provinces.

Hot temperatures combined with dry conditions have led to one of the most severe wildfires seasons on record, according to the federal government.

Western Canada has been the most “disproportionately” affected but the fires have led to multiple air quality warnings throughout parts of the country.

Danny Harvey, a climate expert at the University of Toronto, outlines the need for climate action as we face more frequent and severe wildfire seasons.
