U.S. President Donald Trump and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced a major trade agreement Sunday in Scotland.

The deal includes a 15% tariff on EU goods entering the U.S., $750 billion in European energy purchases, and $600 billion in new EU investments in the U.S.

Trump called it “the biggest deal ever made,” while von der Leyen said it brings stability and predictability to transatlantic commerce.

While falling short of the EU’s goal of zero-for-zero tariffs, the agreement averts a threatened 30 per cent rate and ends months of tense negotiations.
